Snowdon Heads to Monza with Podium in Sight

23rd June 2007

Hampshire sportscar racer, Peter Snowdon, heads to the Italian Grand Prix venue of Monza this weekend (June 23/24) for the latest round of the FIA GT3 championship.

The MCD Developments backed driver has already set his aims high for the weekend, with a visit to the podium over the course of the two one-hour races his main intention.

“We need a result this weekend and a top-three finish is exactly what I’m going out to Monza to achieve,” said Peter. “We proved at the last round at Bucharest that the Tech 9 Porsche has the pace to run right at the front. We just need to consolidate that into a good result,” he added.

The Porsche 997 GT3’s will not have the 2007 upgrade kit available for the weekend. However, Peter is still confident that he and driving partner Tom Haines have a car that is capable of matching and beating the rest of the GT3 grid.

“We won’t have the upgrade kit on the car for this meeting though, which is a shame. But, we know that we have a good set-up on the Porsche for the circuit after the pre-season test. A podium result, in both races, is really what I want from the weekend,” he said.

Peter will take to the track for the first time just before lunch on Saturday, with both races taking place on Sunday.
